ANC continues to dominate results
Pretoria - The ANC continued to dominate the leader board on Friday morning as results trickled in after South Africa's fourth post-democracy local government election.
By 07:00, the ANC's share of the vote stood at 20.5 million (63.51%), with the Democratic Alliance's at 7 million (22.26%).
Seat calculations were 76.26% complete, with 212 seats allocated from a total of 278.
The province with the largest number of seats to be calculated is KwaZulu-Natal, with 25 municipalities left.
Limpopo is next with 15 to allocate, followed by the Eastern Cape and the Free State with 10 each, Gauteng with three and Mpumalanga with two.
