Cold start to voting in Bloemfontein

Bloemfontein - It was a cold start for some
voters who began queuing at 6am at Bloemfontein voting stations for Wednesday's
local government elections.
At Universitas Primary School and Bohmer
Secondary School election officials were getting ready for the day, while
members of various political parties, the DA, ANC and FF Plus, erected gazebos
outside from which they hoped to attract last-minute votes.
At least 10 voters were outside Universitas
waiting for the station to open. They said they wanted to vote early and get it
over with.
In Ficksburg, at the Meqheleng Primary
School, voting station personnel were on duty, but no voters were in sight.
