Zuma campaigns at Park Station

2011-05-09 07:24

Johannesburg - A large police contingent patrolled Park Station on Monday morning ahead of President Jacob Zuma's arrival.

Zuma is on the campaign trail in Gauteng, in a final push ahead of the local government elections next week.

Outgoing Johannesburg Mayor Amos Masondo and the ANC's provincial leadership handed out party fliers at the station ahead of Zumas arrival.

Commuters went about their business on the icy Johannesburg morning, with some stopping to collect a flier before continuing on their journeys.

Police were stationed at a side entrance to the station, and dozens were deployed inside.

Zuma is expected to move from the station - where he will campaign - to the Noord Street minibus taxi rank.

@Unathi: F*** off troll. Zuma and his comrades rape this country on a daily basis, I wonder what happens to all the women in the ANC behind closed doors as well. Stupid inbreeder.

      Nunya - 2011-05-09 08:55

Only a flier, where is the T-shirt and the chicken?

  • pitbull - 2011-05-09 07:55

Yes VOTE. Get rid of these mamparas in the ANC. They have destroyed the country faster than the previous government took to build it. Promises, promises, who can live on promises. it takes two idiots to outvote a genius in a democratic system.

  • Born To Fish - 2011-05-09 07:58

Hey Zuma, Remember to tell your voters about the open toilets in the Freestate! Hahahahahahahaha!

  • Vanquisher - 2011-05-09 08:29

  • bigmorgan - 2011-05-09 09:08

The problem with the man on the street is that even though he is pissed off with the ANC, he would rather not cast a vote than vote for another party.

  • zulufox - 2011-05-09 09:11

Haha... I would if madam zille would Dare campaign at Park Station... such is the reach of the ANC!

      Rocky_III - 2011-05-09 09:38

You can stop calling her Madam now. We have all moved far away from those day's. Maybe you simply cannot move on and are stuck in the past. That's a pity.

      Rapier - 2011-05-09 10:11

Obviously you missed the DA campaign bus on Friday, carrying the more eligible candidates. Zuma does not qualify for a ticket due to lack of performance. But of course....ANC propaganda omitted to tell you about the good of any other party :-)

      Born To Fish - 2011-05-09 10:21

Why did you guys not comment on the ANC toilet issue?

      Rapier - 2011-05-09 10:35

Because they are trying to cover up their pathetic performance in almost....perhaps every sector of SA life today. SA's morale has never been as rock bottom as it is right now - inept President, poor example, low morals, corruption....it never seems to end. Of course the DA is not perfect, and it WILL make mistakes, but not due to a LACK of performance. To make an omelet you need to break eggs. The ANC cadres are effectively killing the chickens.

  • JuluisMalema - 2011-05-09 09:40

A vote for the ANC, will give you a lack of service delivery and broken/empty promises, like it was since 1994.

  • TreeFarmer - 2011-05-09 10:08

Why does he even bother - the ANC always wins out, its a numbers game! (I really hope i get to eat those words though...)

  • Rob - 2011-05-09 16:44

The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poly', meaning 'many', and the word 'ticks', meaning 'blood sucking parasites'.
