KWAMAKHUTHA police made a huge difference in crime when they arrested 11 wanted suspects for various crimes in their area. The operation started 11 February throughout the night to 12 February when members conducted an intelligence-driven operation there.

SAPS arrested 11 suspects for crimes including murder, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and possession of drugs. All arrested suspects are due to appear in the Umbumbulu Magistrate’s Court soon.

SAPS vowed to continue such operations in the area to make sure those involved in any criminal activities are brought to book. They will target and raid hot spots including liquor outlets and shebeens.

KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended the police for the arrest they made.
“I encourage the community to work closely with the police in the fight against crime.
“They must not buy stolen goods and must report those selling such goods to us. The community must not hide criminals, they must expose them,” she said.
