Cleaners give half-hearted service

2015-10-07 06:00

IF you walk along the pavement in Kingsway, Warner Beach, on the railway side, from opposite the Anglican Church to the subway, you will be shocked at the amount of rubbish that has been thrown over the wooden fence into the bush - enough to fill about 200 refuse bags.

This has been happening for months, creating a perfect breeding ground for rats.

Teams of cleaners, wearing smart new red overalls get dropped off frequently. They only pick up rubbish on the pavement and never fill a bag in the few hours they are there.

They also need to sit on the fence and rest for an hour or two, and we rate and taxpayers are paying for this half-hearted service.

The only visible active councillor is André Beetge who tries to get things done. Where are the other councillors?
