Do not trust those in power

2015-07-22 06:01

PRESIDENT Zuma’s recent statement that education will be free is another gimmick to woo the electorate as the local government elections are around the corner.

Education is dysfunctional – we are still searching for a working model where the curriculum will benefit the democracy and prepare young South Africans to become useful, productive and contributing members of society. Many schools lack basic resources and educational materials. Rural schools are an embarrassment and the government is fully cognisant of their lethargy, but is focused on misleading the working class to vote for the ANC – absolute power is government’s priority.

False promises were aplenty in the recent national polls - the ANC embarked on a social ills programme where its former provincial MP Ina Cronjé was presented as the champion of their social ills programme. Now, the ANC is desperately trying to influence the youth of Phoenix to throw their weight behind the ruling party.

There will always be the myopic and naive, but in the main Phoenix, Chatsworth and Northdale residents have abandoned the ANC for valid reasons. The ANC will mislead a paltry of our youth in exchange for their votes but will abandon them when they apply for employment, to join the South African Police Services, municipalities and government departments.

Many Indian families have bonded their homes and are making great financial sacrifices to send their children to study abroad. Soon the ANC will be deploying its puppets to summon our pseudo religious leaders to lure us to the polls. The lackeys have failed in the past, but the broader flock knows better.

The message is simple - do not trust Zuma and the ANC.
