AN opportunity to train 15 personnel from Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres around Kingsburgh in first aid was hosted by Kingsburgh Child Welfare.

The initiative was sponsored by AECI and conducted by Sapphire Life Training. Antoinette Meyer said the course covered CPR for babies and children, medical emergencies related to children (epilepsy, asthma and other breathing problems), febrile fits and children illnesses and level 1 training, which is accredited with Seta and Merseta, valid for three years.

First-aid kits can be ordered from Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare offices.

Crèches, pre-school and schools interested in first-aid training, must contact Sandra or Janette on 031 916 2274 or 031 916 3007, 8am to 12pm, Mondays to Fridays. - Supplied
