THE team from Rising Sun JKA Karate Academy in Amanzimtoti recently participated in the JKA Karate Nationals in Johannesburg.

The team did extremely well, with over 3 000 competitors taking part on the two days, and the dojo bringing back a total of eight gold and six bronze medals.

Sensei Michael Thompson and Sensei James Pretorius were selected for the Africa Cup tournament later this year.

The dojo is hoping for more great achievements from their students at the upcoming KZN Development Tournament on 19 July in Tongaat.
