THE Weaver Conference Centre in the Southgate Business Park has been revived and was reopened by new owner Priya Naidoo. The centre was designed by local architect Barry Liggins and built by the late master builder, Alan van Niekerk. “Alan chose the site well. It is one of the few sites with greenery to the east. Everything was built to open up space onto the magnificent decks,” said Liggins.

“We designed to an African theme and kept the wood theme, extending it to the ceilings and huge custom-built bar. This has created the tranquil, homely feel, keeping it natural,” Liggins added.

The multi-sized centre will focus on conferencing and team-building, providing for any size conference up to 150 people.

“The centre is conveniently structured to accommodate small meetings in the Leopard room, bigger conferences in the Red Bishop room-Weaver room. There is also the facility where two to four people may have a private meeting and/ or meal,” Liggins explained.

Catering is tailor-made to suit customer’s requirements. The dining room will also serve as a diner for lunches and business breakfasts and will be open seven days a week from 7.30am, and boasts and flexible hours to suit individual requirements.

It is also the ideal venue for weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties and children’s birthday parties.
