DYLAN Lamb’s natural ability and dedication to a variety of sport has seen him awarded a victor ludorum at Amanzimtoti Primary this year. Dylan excels in soccer, rugby, hockey, cricket and swimming and plays first team rugby, cricket and soccer.

“I would like to one day maybe follow a career in soccer. Maybe play for Bafana Bafana,” he says.

He has been chosen to play for the U13 KwaZulu-Natal Invitational Primary Schools’ Soccer Association team and will be touring to Camp Discovery in Dinokeng during the holidays where the team will compete against 13 teams.

Dylan is vice swimming captain and has been the swimming in championships from UU9 to U13. During the first term he helped his team to break the record and win the relay at Kingsway High. He was the top U13 swimmer in the medley, backstroke and butterfly races this year. He has been doing extra swimming with Charlene Felgate since he the age of nine. In 2013 he was awarded a victor ludorum for his efforts in the pool.

He also plays hockey for the Upper South Coast Hockey team and participates in cross-country and athletics and did well in his school’s inter-house long-distance race.

“I am just a really outgoing kind of person. I enjoy being with my friends and sharing good team work,” he said.

His loves his dogs Bella and Havoc because he “creates havoc” and he likes pizza, likes reading and is a media monitor at school. He enjoys reading Bear Grylls and when he is not on the sports field, he likes to play chess and to spend time on the beach kiting, fishing, boogie boarding and body surfing or cycling and skateboarding. His other hobbies include photography and he recently took an interest in bird watching.

Dylan has been offered bursaries at both local high schools and is looking forward to joining Kingsway High next year, where he wants to try water polo, among other sports.
