A DROWNING incident in Umkomaas last Wednesday evening left an 18-month-old boy in a serious condition. A report from the scene indicates that the mother had found the child floating in the pool and pulled him out.

“Netcare 911 paramedics found that the mother had immediately started with CPR to resuscitate her child. A fantastic effort from the mother led to the child’s heart starting and when paramedics arrived at the scene the child had started breathing again,” said Chris Botha, Media Liaison Officer - Netcare 911.

After medics treated the patient, they transported him to a hospital in Scottburgh. - Netcare 911.
