DESPITE the non-stop rain on Friday, a determined team from Toti Conservancy and the community made their way to the tunnel joining Kingsway and Elcock roads in Warner Beach, that gives access to the beach.

The tunnel , which has been invaded by vagrants and is subjected to constant littering, was getting a new face. On Thursday, fire trucks came in and used hoses to apply high-pressure water spray to the walls, as a result top paint coat came off.

The clean-up team, however, had plenty of hard work ahead of them, scraping off the remaining paint.

“Once we are done, we are hoping to involve some of the high schools in the area to assist us with the artwork,” Toti Conservancy’s Corrine Winson said.

The theme will most likely be “reflecting dunes” on the one side and “sealife” on the other side
