‘Woolies’ robbers get away with cash

2015-09-09 06:00

WOOLWORTHS Seadoone Mall was robbed in the early hours of Saturday, just before opening, when three suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

“At 7.20am, while staff were off-loading a delivery truck, they were approached by three black males, all armed with 9mm pistols. The suspects forced the staff into the cash office. Two suspects then entered the general office and forced the manager to open the safe,” Captain Charlene van der Spuy reported.

The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. “The vehicle used has not been established. No injuries were sustained and no shots fired,” said Van der Spuy.

The suspects cut surveillance camera wire and took one tape, she said. It is unknown if video footage is available.

The suspects are unknown.

Woolworths confirmed the incident. “The incident took place while staff were off-loading a delivery truck on Saturday morning. “The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were sustained,” said Woolworths corporate press office.
