KINGSBURGH Child and Family Welfare Society ran a training programme on gender sensitivity and domestic violence to the youth. The programme is designed to raise awareness about domestic violence and to empower victims.

“The programme provided information on the causes of domestic violence, sensitise communities to gender issues and to the problems and difficulties experienced by women or men who have been abused, encourage communities to work together to take action and to develop understanding and empathy for women or men who have been abused,” said senior social worker for the organisation, Sandra Govender.
