IT has been a year since Sapphire Coast Tourism launched their popular South Coast Photo competition on Facebook to collect photos of our beautiful area for marketing and promotion.

The community will now assist tourism to pick the overall winner of the competition.

The 13 winning pictures will be on exhibit at the pop-up gallery, Art on Kingsway at the Freshstop Garage Toti, from Monday, August 14 and the public is requested to vote for their favourite one at the gallery.

The closing date is August 31.

There are prizes for the overall winner and spot prizes for voters.

The competition has been such a success that Sapphire Coast Tourism has decided to launch a new competition, this time including photos, poetry and drawings of our area.

“We are extremely excited to launch this competition and are looking for an ambassador for our area,” former chairperson, Kim McCarthy said.

She called on young and old, pupils, artists, poets and anyone with an artistic flair to enter.

The competition starts on September 1, running for three months.

The theme will be announced at the end of this month.

Watch this space and visit the Sapphire Coast Photo Comp page on Facebook for details.

The winner takes home R1 000 and winning contributions or photos are printed in the Amanzimtoti Fever.

Sapphire Coast Tourism will hold its AGM on September 2 at Art on Kingsway at 11am, when the overall winner will be announced.

All paid-up members are invited to attend and requested to contact Louise 082 574 3421 to book, for catering purposes.

Sapphire Coast Tourism is also calling on young and energetic people with an interest in tourism to consider joining the committee.

Interested persons can contact them via email on info@sapphire coasttourism.co.za
