CCPO team goes beyond call of duty

2016-01-13 06:00

ON Thursday night, 7 January, a friend and I were concerned about the well being of an elderly parishioner from our church who lives alone and whom we had been unable to contact during the day.
We decided to ask the Community Crime Prevention Organisation team (CCPO) to accompany my friend (who was also concerned about her own safety while checking an unfamiliar property at night) to the lady’s home. Thankfully the only problem was the lady’s landline was out of order.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Fran Cole and Wayne Smerdon of the CCPO for acting beyond their call of duty. Bless you.

For anyone in the community who still has any doubts about the commitment of the CCPO staff, please think again as this is only one of the many acts of kindness it has performed. No questions were asked about whether the lady is a CCPO member, but it was later confirmed that she is.

Whether you live in a freestanding home, a complex, a flat, or own a business, please show your sense of commitment to your community by joining the CCPO. We owe it to each other. We also need to show the CCPO that we acknowledge the fact they put their lives on the line for us every day and that collectively we are committed in our support of the organisation. More support means more guards patrolling.
