Community urged to attend sector meetings every month

2017-06-28 06:01

AN urgent appeal is made by the Amanzimtoti SAPS Sector 1 Commander to the community of Sector 1 (which is from Seadoone Road north to Athlone Park) to attend the crime forum meeting on the first Tuesday of the month at the Amanzimtoti Civic Centre Activities room, which is next to the library.

Often the community vent their frustrations about crime related issues on social media, so the community is urged to attend the meeting as it is the platform to share their concerns and come up with strategies.

The meeting is only one hour per month.

“Become involved in your community in partnership with the SAPS to pro-actively prevent crime in our community.

The next meeting will be held on
July 4 from 6pm to 7pm,” said SAPS spokesperson, Charlene van der Spuy.

A special request is made to Beach Road residents to attend as Beach Road is one of the hot spots for property and vehicle related crimes which includes theft of cars, common robbery, and so on.

Mall managers and security companies are asked to attend.

The Sector 1 Crime Forum can also be visited on their Facebook page: Amanzimtoti Sector 1 Crime Forum
