JOIN the Illovo Wagtail Conservation Festival, which will take place from 7 am to 3 pm on July 22, at the Illovo Business Park.

Birdlife PortNatal, Illovo Business Park and Umsinsi adventures, present this event, which will include a conservation fair, guided nature walks, conservation talks, a market, food and drinks and activities for children.

“Walks start from 7 am every hour and there will be a range of conservancy and environmental displays, including a display by butterfly expert Steve Woodhall.

“Several speakers will hosts talks over a period of four hours and the idea is to make this an annual event,” said the conservancy’s Laura Taylor.

“Indigenous trees will be for sale for people to buy on behalf of Illovo Business Park, to plant along the banks of the river and rehabilitate the area. In all likelihood, the area is set to become a nature reserve a couple of years from now,” she said.

Nick Evans from KZN Amphibian and Reptile Conservation will be the special guest. For further information, contact Adam Cruikshank at 061 485 3625.
