2016-11-16 06:00

ON Tuesday, 8 November at 9.15am a man was found with a gunshot wound in a flat in Beach Road, Amanzimtoti.

“A business man from Johannesburg, 42-year old Thomendren “Nathan” Naicker, visited Amanzimtoti for business and was staying in a flat in Beach Road on the above-mentioned date.
“The same morning his wife arrived from Johannesburg to accompany her husband back home,” said SAPS Captain Charlene van der Spuy.

“The couple packed their bags and before leaving the husband asked his wife to go and buy him a packet of cigarettes at a shop.
“On her return, she was coming down the passage when she heard a loud bang coming from inside the flat. She found her husband on the floor with a towel wrapped around his head and covered in blood. His firearm was next to him.”

The ambulance service was contacted and Naicker was rushed to Kingsway Hospital where he died a short while later.

“He had sustained a bullet wound to his head and an inquest is being investigated by Amanzimtoti detectives,” said Captain van der Spuy.
