Message from the youth

2016-01-06 06:00

DEAR Mr Jacob Zuma.

A word of warning for you. A new generation is coming. A generation born free of apartheid, a generation that is united, a generation that is tolerant of another, a generation where racism is not tolerated, a generation that is truly a rainbow nation.

We believe in development - development that is fair to all, development that does not impede on others’ growth, development that encourages and inspires all to grow.

We do not believe in hand-outs, we know it’s a recipe for disaster. Instead, we believe in work that comes with ethics. Ethics that you do not have in your highest office.

We are a land of democracy. We do not laugh at others’ input or criticism. We listen to each other and grow together. We learn from mistakes. We are prepared for consequences and we build each other up.

None of this applies to you who does not respect Parliament or our democracy as a whole.

The truth is, we are coming and nobody is safe. I warn you, Zuma. The ANC will fall to its knees and a new generation will be in power, and it is not the DA for both of you are stuck in a feud about apartheid that for us ended long ago.

Together, all things are possible and we will stand together against you.

We are an empowered youth and it is time to stand up and begin the end of corruption.

Zuma must fall.
