NINETEEN-year-old Andile Zuma was crowned Miss KwaMakhutha 2017 at an extravagant event held earlier this month at the KwaMakhutha Community Hall.

Zuma is ambitious and a go-getter who is currently doing her second year in financial accounting at the Damelin City Campus and plans to become an auditor in the near future.

This is Zuma’s second beauty pageant win — last year she was crowned Miss Damelin City Campus. She would like to use her Miss KwaMakhutha title to “encourage young women to dream big and not let their surroundings or anyone stop them”.

Zuma believes that young people should be prepared to work hard for what they want to achieve and not be easily distracted from fulfilling their dreams. The pageant is a project of the Greater KwaMakhuta Community Foundation (GKCF) and it seeks to provide positive social experiences, build self-worth and unleash suppressed potentials in the young women of KwaMakhutha.

The GKCF was established by concerned and committed citizens who have a mission to perpetuate community-lead change through sustainable social and economic development.
