More security needed to minimise crime

2017-08-09 06:03

WITH the amount of crime there should be that much more security employed in order to beat crime.

There should be more security patrolling common criminal areas or streets where crime is rife. We need to fight crime together. We should not be living in fear in our beds or houses because criminals have put us there. Why are they in control of our lives, feelings and emotions? Why do we give them that power?

Why do they have the power to destroy lives when we should be living in peace, not war? Why don’t we feel secure and at ease knowing we will be protected? Why go to sleep fearing the next attack or that we will be robbed or houses broken into or our cars stolen?

There is something very wrong with our society. We need to take necessary measures or precautions to ensure the safety of our community.

It is not normal to be afraid to drive in your car, that you will be hijacked or to enter your home or driveway or watch every step you take or move you make in case someone is lurking in the background waiting to hurt you.

No one should live like a war zone waiting for the next bullet or bomb to go off if you step in the wrong place.

Why are some criminals getting away with cruel crime? Why is it so easy to take innocent lives?

Where is the human conscience, is it burnt that something so precious as a life can be taken without a thought?

Life is a treasure and a gift, how can someone take the law into their own hands and take something so priceless, rare and irreplaceable - take away friends and families of those we love and can never get back.

Human life is a blessing not to be destroyed but nurtured and taken care of. We need to take a stand together against crime as a community, society and country.

Let us rewrite our history and replace it with goodness, kindness and honour through our deeds or acts of bravery and save the lives of those around us and that will eventually impact our world.

We need to adjust our sails to control the wind in order to reach our destination.
