KHANYA Hospice management and staff would like to extend a hearty welcome to Michelle van Gend, a new volunteer who arrived on Tuesday, 9 February.
Van Gend lives with her parents in a small village, Veenendaal, in Holland. She is in her final fourth year studying social work at a university in Amersfoort, near Utrecht in The Netherlands.

Van Gend decided to volunteer at Hospice and at the same time wants to write a social work study, (short thesis) on the work that Khanya Hospice is doing in the community.

“Hospice has always been grateful for any help and/or support,” says Neil McDonald, Hospice CEO.

“We are a NGO, not supported by government grants and have to fund-raise ourselves to keep the work of Hospice ongoing. Khanya Hospice offers free palliative nursing care to people who suffer from life-threatening diseases and support to their families,” he said.

Anyone needing the services of Hospice or who would like to make a donation, contact Hospice on 039 973 1783 or 083 597 8985, email manager@khanyahospice.org. za or go to www.Khanyahos pice.org.za - Supplied.
