SOLIDARITEIT Helpende Hand het sy eerste skenkingskantoor in Amanzimtoti geopen om behoeftige mense in die plaaslike gemeenskap by te staan en ook om as gerieflike inleweringspunt vir skenkings te dien.

Alle skenkings wat by die skenkingskantoor ontvang word, sal eerstens gebruik word om die behoeftiges in die gemeenskap te help. Voedsel, klere en meubels word altyd benodig. Ekstra skenkings word dan verkoop teen winskooppryse om ander opheffingsprojekte in Amanzimtoti te begin.

“Ons probeer om mense se armoede deur middel van onderskeie projekte te verlig, te voorkom en te verbreek. Nagenoeg 80% van ons tyd en bronne word bestee aan die voorkoming van armoede terwyl die balans tussen die verligting van armoede en die verbreking van die armoedekringloop verdeel word,” sê Mariette van Heerden, Helpende Hand se streeksorganiseerder in KwaZulu-Natal.

Helpende Hand het tans meer as 36 000 ondersteuners wat per debietorder ’n maandelikse bydrae maak. Helpende Hand ontvang geen hulp van die staat nie en is afhanklik van die bydraes van die publiek om projekte te befonds.

Helpende Hand is ? organisasie sonder winsbejag wat gestig is om oplossings vir armoede onder Afrikaners te vind. Daar is meer as 150 takke landwyd, sowel as 18 skenkingskantore. Helpende Hand is baie dankbaar vir elke skenking wat deur lede van die publiek by die kantoor afgelewer word.

Enige skenkings in die vorm van klere, kombuisware, nie-bederfbare voedsel en selfs meubels is welkom en kan by winkel 1 in die Lagoon Sentrum, in Amanzimtoti se sakegebied, afgelewer word.
