SAPPHIRE Coast Tourism would like to encourage the community to become a Tourism ambassador and help promote the region.

They are calling on photographers, poets and artists to enter the new Sapphire Coast Competition, which will run over three months.

This month they want photographs of the Sapphire Coast showcasing our tourism area.

“It can be anything you think best represents our region and which will attract tourists. Post your photos on the Sapphire Coast Photo Comp Facebook page.

“There is no entry limit. The winner will be announced at the end of September,” said Romy Wenzel, new Tourism chairperson.

In October drawings, sketches and paintings of the Sapphire Coast are welcome and in November poetry entries are invited. Write a poem that best describes the Sapphire Coast, our attractions, its people and more.

The Sapphire Coast covers areas from Athlone Park to Clansthal, and inland towards Umnini Dam.

The September competition is already in full swing and the winner takes home R1 000 in prize money each month.

Entries for October and November can already be submitted, but will only be judged at the end of those months.
