What has the ANC govt done?

2017-07-05 06:01

COLONIALISM and apartheid did the black population of South Africa no favours whatsoever and one understands the outrage that followed Helen Zille’s recent insensitive tweet.

However, will somebody please be so kind as to tell me what good the ANC government has done for the majority of the black population since it took over?

For example, if one thought that the previous nationalist government’s bantu education system was inferior, just look at the one SA has now!

Media reports reveal that some Grade 5 pupils still can’t read and the few who do matriculate have almost no chance of finding meaningful employment, let alone the chance to study further at a tertiary institution.

Onerous labour laws further discourage employers from taking on more staff, which results in yet more mechanisation.

The economy is in recession, foreigners are divesting on a grand scale, corruption is endemic and unemployment is at an all time high, which sadly leaves many people with little option but to resort to less honest means for their survival.

Add to this the state capture attempts, the sad state of affairs at most government hospitals, the anarchy on our roads, the social-welfare debacle, the lack of effective policing, poor service delivery and the woes at most of the parastatals, to name only a few.

And don’t forget our president whose self-serving blinkers have rendered him totally oblivious to the tragic results of his actions.

Can someone also please assure me, or more specifically the likes of those who have been standing on street corners for months on end looking for work, that the ANC government is not well on its way to becoming even worse than the colonials were?
