Africans need to embrace

2015-05-14 06:00

The South African government has to be commended for a job well done in its reaction to dealing with the recent attacks on foreigners.

Yes, African countries need to find ways of dealing with the migration of their citizens, but this is not the time to point fingers.

We all need to find a long-term solution for the benefit of future generations.

Africanism can be transmitted through sport, arts and the culture of reading.

We need to encourage our kids to adopt a passion for reading instead of drowning themselves on social media like Facebook or WhatsApp.

National sport teams should recruit our African brothers and sisters who are legible for SA citizenship.

The various art forms should advance the theme of Africanism and brotherhood, now and for generations to come.

I really believe such efforts will enhance the ideals of African Renaissance and in the process get rid of xenophobia.

We all need to unite rather than play the blame game in fighting this evil act.

We need our fellow African countries to help us to get rid of xenophobia.

United we stand, divided we fall. God bless Africa
