Gugulethu’s award winning Zama Dance School is pleased to announce there are still places available for 2016.

Entry and three weekly classes are free to girls and boys but must be between 6 and 8 years of age and live and study in Gugulethu close to NY43.

Entries close November 11th with auditions on Friday 13th and again the following Friday 20th.

Dance clothes, ballet shoes and lunch are provided to students who attend all three classes and pass Zama’s end-of-year ballet exams.

“From it’s humble beginnings in 1989, Zama has gone on to create a stable, warm and accepting environment in which children can thrive, dance and grow into happy young people.

Success stories are many, with former Zama students dancing professionally in South Africa and abroad.

Maybe the true test of success should be measured by the schools ability to stand the test of time. 25 years on and Zama is still a potent blend of sustained inspiration, dedication and commitment, shared by the students and teachers who have all been seduced by the promise and potential of classical ballet flourishing in a township area,” said Andrew Warth, director Zama Dance School.
