Local gospel star Lusanda Beja is set to show why he is one of the most promising acts to come out of the Mother City in recent years.

Beja,24, will be hosting his live show at the New Faith Church in Goodwood. The event will take place on Sunday 24 October.

Beja doubles up as a marketing management student and running a company called Bema Exclusive Events, proof that talent alone is not the be all.

“I strongly believe that skills and God-given gifts need to be incorporated with education for one to garner success. I started my promotion and event coordination company in 2012 . We also have a music division called Bema Music, which is growing in leaps and bounds” he said.

Beja told City Vision that he has been singing all his life.

“I have been singing all my life in church, growing up in a very spiritual and very musical family.

My Career began when I took part in a gospel singing contest I Want To Sing Gospel on SABC2 in 2008,” he said.

He made it to the top 10 from thousands of contestants who auditioned from all over the country.

He recalled that chance as a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“It was an amazing experience in so many levels. I learnt a lot in a short space of time; one moment I was just a normal guy from Cape Town, and the next I was one of the best male music ministers,” he shared. One of his highlights was going on a tour with Joyous Celebration.

“I have Always been a fan of the choir and Kirk Franklin when I was growing up.

I have always looked up to Lindelani Mkhize, so having been part of that contest gave me an opportunity not to just work close with Mr Mkhize but to also tour with Joyous which was on its own an amazing encounter,” said Beja.

He also got an opportunity to share the stage with his icon(Franklin) when he visited the country.

After that he recorded his first album titled LIVE.

“I recorded and released that album under my own label, which for me is a brilliant achievement,” he said. The show starts at 18:00 and tickets are available t Computicket at R120 each. Music lovers can contact Beja on Facebook or contact Maggie Mbathane. on 0711621260
