“Death, taxes and childbirth! There’s never any convenient time for any of them ” once remarked Pulitzer winning Margaret Mitchell in her epic novel Gone with the Wind.

It’s in the spirit of making the issue of tax a “convenient one” that drives young accountant Khanyi Ndlazi’s zeal to teach communities about a subject many find problematic.

After a stint with different employers, Khanyi took a giant leap and decided on starting her own Ndlazi and Associates - an accounting and tax services company.

Ndlazi and Associates is the result of the entrepreneurial spirit which is alive in the country.

“With the growth of the informal sector in the country and more and more people leaving the corporate world and starting their own business, there is a need to provide a financial service to them,” said the 27 year tax guru.

She said this will allow business owners to fully comply with statutory requirements.

“Our goal is to empower the business owner by providing a superior service which is both affordable and reliable,” she said.

This allows the business owners the space to focus on growth and not to be consumed with the everyday accounting operations of the business.

With her slogan: “we don’t get tired, we get inspired”, Khanyi wants to make her presence felt in this field and beyond.

“We do company registration, VAT registration, BEE Certificates Levels 1 and 3, including tax clearance and consulting as we submits tax returns on behalf of our clientelle,” Khanyi

Black business people and communities still need to know a lot about taxes and the law.

“Boxing legend Dingaan Thobela was recently nabbed by Hawks for not updating his tax affairs, so individuals and businesses should watch out,” she added.

We have been taught that we need three meals a day in order to make it through the day and while most of us indulge in more than our fair share there is a large portion of South Africans who are living off barely enough to sustain them.
