Story-telling has its own therapeutic powers, healing the mind and soul.

This was the cane during a session hosted by King Khoi Publishers in Mfuleni last week.

KKP director, Samukele Ntombela, was the person in charge of the procedings on the day at the eponymous Brian Buqa Community Library.

Ntombela is an author of children’s books and story teller.

She also creates puppet shows for children at creches and local libraries as part of his giving back to the communities.

Usually, children from ages 6 – 12 years get a chance to also tell their own stories, whereafter the host writes them down and publishes those stories on their behalf.

After about 12 of the children narrated their own tales, Oyisa Booi was the toast of the day won the grand prize, a Kiddies Play Kit.

KK Publishers extended a word of gratitude to Phatheka Ndeleni of Cebolethu Educare, Brian Buqa of Brian Buqa Community Library, Belinda Dilima of BoIvy Productions and Mfundo Hashe for making the day a fun-filled one
