Art is more than drawing, dressing up and capturing perfect moments, it is seeing beauty in the imperfections and creating the things you wish existed.

Fashion is an art form and it allows you to explore your imaginations and push your disturbing thoughts into existence.

Mzukisi Mbane, a young fashion designer and founder of Imprints designs blew the audience away with his collection at the 2015 South African Menswear week early this year and he also showcased his spring collection at the Mercedes-Banz Cape Town Fashion week in August.

Mbane is a 24 year old young man who has dream, who believes that in the absence of fear, dreams do come true.

“Growing up in a place such as Khayelitsha where everyone sees darkness and hopelessness, a place where all you hear is cant’s, wont’s and shouldn’t, you learn pretty fast that you have to speak louder than anyone else if you want to be heard,” he said.

The truth is we all have a voice and there comes a time when you have to fight for what you want, that time for Mr Mbane is now.

“I believe it’s how you screaming that no one can hear; the great Nelson Mandela once said “courage is not the absence of fear but the triumph over it,” he added.

The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear”. Mzukisi is a true inspiration to everyone that you are not defined by where you come from or by the clothes you wear, because you are destined for greatness and beyond.

No one ever said it will be easy; it is that hard that makes it worth it.

All the discomforts, the rejections, the restlessness and uneasiness you experience, the challenges and obstacles you face and the oppositions and resistance you meet are paving your way to snatching your big prize therefore remember, a head full of fears has no room for dreams.

Pain and suffering will always surround every one of us but how you deal with them is determined by how much you want what you fighting for.

Live your life to tell a story, what you do today will one day save a life.

The Way of Life Church minister Pastor Xola Skosana once said “do not let your story die. If you die personally, let your story live on because one day somebody in some generation will say enough is enough”.

It is time to push your gifts and talents into existence, what is your gift to the world.
