Police work has resulted in two men l;anding in prison after they were found in the possession of stolen Plasma TVs and .

According to police, the two were arrested on Thursday after they were spotted with their loot.

“The police members were standing at the traffic lights in Borched’s Quarry when they noticed a suspiciously looking white BMW in front of them.

The vehicle was loaded with flat screen tvs that were covered in sheets.

When the police signalled for the vehicle to stop the driver sped off and a chase ensued,” said police spokesperson Captain Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi.

She said that one of the suspects, who was sitting at the back seat, twice pointed a gun at the cops twice, but that did not deter them.

“The vehicle came to a standstill at Eisleben Road in Crossroads, the suspects jumped out of the vehicle and fled but the police apprehended both the driver and a passenger.

On searching the vehicle police recovered six flat screens, three laptops, various jewellery, different cell phones, a variety of perfumes, bags, a safe and other several items including housebreaking implements,” She explained.

Both men, aged 34 and 40 years old respectively, were detained on the scene.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the BMW used was hired but had false registration numbers.

They appeared in court for the possession of stolen property, pointing of firearm and house breaking,” she concluded.
