Driven by the dream of seeing youth in her community reaching for greater heights in life, a Philippi woman is continuously making strides in her community.

Zoliswa Moseleni, 28, is on a mission to keep youth of Wood Bay, in the right path using entertainment.

Moseleni is founder of Ingcambu Youth and Old Drama group which was established in 2009.

Dozens of youth can be seen in her backyard practising traditional dance called Umxhentso, Isibhujwa dances, RnB music, stage modelling and many other entertainment activities.

Her yard is also a hive of other activities, as this is where the African Mission Church hold its services too.

“The response that I am getting from the youth is great and they are showing a big interest and love for what we are doing here. It helps keeps them away from ill-disciplined behaviour,” Moseleni said.

She has since made contacts with some modelling agencies to which she refers some of her clients.a

Herself a stage model, Moseleni is sharing her skills with others in her area of residence.

Her accolades include being crowned Miss Zisukhanyo Secondary School, in Samora Machel. In 2013 she was also crowned Miss Kaizer Chiefs Nyanga.

She is also working in close colaboration with a local music group Proqnosiz, with whom she and her crew has shot music videos.

Moseleni said she hit on this bright spark after she lost her job as a filed marketer at a reputable company last year. That negative was turned into a life-changing positive, hence she started the youth group, which is self-funded.

“I do not receive funding from anyone, but I will never give up on my dream,” she added.

Moseleni is inviting youngsters who want to take part in her inaugural Miss and Mr Valentine’s Day, which will be held at the Ruth First Hall in Philippi, on Saturday 13 February, to register with her group.

Those interested must be between the ages of 12 to 25 years.

Entry for the competition is free of charge. R10 will grant the audience entry at the door.
