One of Nyanga’s busiest entrepreneurs and DJ’s will be dropping his debut single and it is as controversial as they come.

Raymond “Dj Rakesh” Pani will be releasing his song “One Night Love Affair” tomorrow (Friday 30 June).

He had tongues waging on social made earlier this week when he dropped his artwork for the single which was a picture of a condom wrapper.

The 24-year-old from White City said that as fun as the concept is, he needed to emphasise the importance of protection.

“It’s a fun deep house song that basically talks about what is happening in youth culture but we have to be careful,” he jokingly notes.

He said that it was his first foray into music production after five years as a DJ and event organiser in the Mother City.

He co-produced the song with Dj and music producer from Crossroads Wiseman Mbedu with singer Chase on the vocals.

“I feel like it is about time that I enter into the production side of things. I just want to make music that will make people dance.

“I’m working towards my EP which will be called Walks of Life that I will be releasing in October this year,” he said.

Pani is an entrepreneur that is always on the go running his recycling business called Kasi EcoWise, which recycles old material into new furniture. He recently graduated with a diploma in events management from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. He runs an event brand called Groove Sundays where he hosts parties at his house. He is also known in the streets as Ta Ntswempu, which is the name of his clothing brand. “I just want to grow as a business person,” he said.

He said that his song will be available for free download on Datahostfile.com for a limited period and will be available on iTunes and other digital music stores.
