The Western Cape Local Business Entrepreneurship Awards are a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs.

The awards offer these dynamic individuals a platform from which they can promote their business and get recognition for their success.

In addition, the awards are an invaluable networking opportunity and chance to discover the secrets of other entrepreneurs from their own personal journeys and experiences.

Within the business landscape, some of the biggest and most influential change-makers have been entrepreneurs.

These are dynamic, individual self-starters and creators who identify a desperate need in the world and then come up with workable solutions for the betterment of their lives and greater communities.

Black business entrepreneurs in the Western Cape have not been afforded appropriate recognition for their achievements, and this has been an impediment to the growth of Black businesses.

After all, recognition, mentoring and having positive role models plays a significant role in encouraging new entrepreneurs into the sector.

According to Linda Tom, the creators of the Western Cape Entrepreneurship Awards, have done extensive research into progressive Western Cape industries that contribute well to the local economy.

“In addition, we have also explored the challenges faced by active young Black people in these industries, particularly the age groups where unemployment is a high challenge... Although there are major challenges, we have discovered some incredible business success stories.”

The Western Cape Entrepreneurship Awards is proud to showcase individuals in their various capacities and at various stages of their entrepreneurial journey.

Through this event they seek to give recognition, inspire, motivate and provide a support system for young Black entrepreneurs on their journey towards bigger business success.

“We encourage successful Black business entrepreneurs to apply as nominees for this recognition, as it will also allow them to stand on a platform of potential business development,”she added.
