A woman from Nyanga is facing murder charges following a fatal clash over a dress.

The 24-year-old appeared at the Athlone Magistrate Court on Tuesday facing murder charge.

According to Nyanga police spokesperson Captain Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi the two women fought over a clothing item that was being shared.

“The suspect allegedly stabbed the 29-year-old victim to death after the deceased overpowered her while they were fighting over a dress the deceased had borrowed.

When the suspect saw that the deceased was overpowering her she allegedly took a bread knife and stabbed the victim,” said Sitshitshi. She added that the woman was arrested two hours after the incident occurred.

. Meanwhile a 25-year-old man also appeared in Wynberg Magistrate Court on rape charges.
