IT professionals to share info @ Ekasi

2016-04-21 06:00

IT professionals have been invited to equip, empower and equip technology students about the industry and its opportunities for better informed career choices.

The Department of Education, MICT seta, the bandwidth barn, iStudent Academy are amongst the invited to share about their work and opportunities and how young people can access them.

Students are invited to interact one-on-one with IT professionals and institutions, find mentors and mingle with other future techies.

The motivation for this events is that strongly believe no learner should graduate high school without being at least computer literate, we are setting these kids up to fail! It was done to my generation, it shouldn’t continue.

For Sompisi IT Solutions this is an effort to accelerate the knowledge and constructive use of technology, an opportunity to be part of the solution to the unemployment and poverty that plagues our community and the country.

The event is on the 22 April 2016; time 10:00 – 16:00; Free entry

Open to grade 10 -12 and all high school learners, gap year individuals, unemployed graduated in Khayelitsha and surrounding communities are welcomed.

At the events we’ll also launch a computer literacy that aims to skill high school leaners and create employment opportunities the youth.

Details will be shared at the event.
