Killings spread

A 27-year-old man was due to appear in Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on a charge of murder for a woman whose body was found dumped in a toilet.

A body of a 31 year old woman was found in a public toilet in RR Block at about 8am, on Tuesday.

It is believed that the deceased was murdered at her residence in Site C, Khayelitsha, and her body was later moved to the public toilets. A statement from the police strongly condemned the incident as it took place during the 16 Days Campaign Against Violence on Women and Children and are taken seriously by Police Management.

The police vowed not to be deterred and intensify their efforts to arrest and bring the perpetrators of these crimes to book.

Meanwhile the Deputy Minister of Police, Maggie Sotyu, host the Ministerial Closure Event of 16 Days of Activism in Delft on Friday 9 December.
