“Love your authentic self and celebrate the skin you’re in”

These sentiments will be projected during BlueApple’s Lingerie Fair 2016 women’s event, set to take place on May 7th at Greatmore Studios in Woodstock.

Founder Zizipho Dyubeni said she was inspired to put together this event after noticing that in Khayelitsha, where she was born, young women were not prioritizing healthy lifestyles, and did not openly talk about sex.

For her, though, this lack of debate on things sexual and lifestyle, meant there was an opportunity to do just that; talk about sex and healthy habits.

“It was an opportunity to create a platform where women from different cultures and different backgrounds can get together to celebrate their sensuality, sexuality and femininity.”

“The Lingerie Fair 2016 is an event for women by women, discussing an array of issues deemed essential to all females.

It is intended to deliver real time empowerment to women and in the same spirit educate the female around sexual, mental and physical health whilst celebrating all that makes being a woman alluring and beautiful,” she added.

The event is also aimed at equipping women with the tools they need to take charge of their own bodies and making sure that they understand how they can maximize their personal health in order to live longer and better lives, Dyubeni said.

Sharing their expertise and delivering the keynote addresses will be Dr Marelize Swart, a registered psychologist and board certified sex therapist, Sari Allure, a sex toy consultant and Farah Fortune, billed as a publicist extraordinaire and founder of African Star Communications.

Female performers from around Cape Town will provide entertainment, according to the organisors.

The event also boasts a lingerie show hosted by a wholly owned female boutique called Embrace Your Assets, who will showcasing their signature lingerie range and how they fit different bodies The main objective of the Lingerie Fair 2016 is to educate whilst delivering unconventional entertainment through sensual invitation.
