Nyanga Police are asking for the assistance of the public in the investigation of a case of attempted murder and an inquest docket which was opened after a suspect was shot and killed during a shootout with a man they want to rob in Ntlangano Crescent in Nyanga, on Wednesday.

Three unidentified men, of whom one suspect was positively armed, entered the house of the complainant just after he came back from withdrawing cash from a bank in Gugulethu. One of the suspects fired shots at the complainant and missed, the complainant retaliated and injured one suspect in the arm and the second one was fatally wounded inside a white Toyota vehicle they were using. The injured suspect and the third one fled the scene.

.In another incident a 62 year old man was shot and killed at a shopping centre in Monwood Drive in Browns Farm. It is alleged people heard gun shots and saw the victim lying next to his vehicle with a gunshot wound to his head. The motive on the latter is unknown.
