Ilitha Labantu will be staging their third annual Take Back The Night march on Friday 27 November.

There will be two rally points, Shell Garage at NY 3A and Fawu Building in Steve Biko Road(former NY1).

The marchers will be taking a stand against violence against women and children. This will also serve as their launching of various activities to commemorate 16 Days of Activism.

Siyabulela Monakali a researcher at Lithalabantu said this indicates their stance against the abuse of women and children and a call for action to make communities safe and free of violence.

He said there was a need to “reclaim” streets and make collective powerful statement against the abuse of women and children and crime in general.
