LETTER: Nation is in a state of failure

2016-03-31 06:00

To build a strong nation we must be tough. The situation is not bad as it looks but its worse and its getting extremely worse.

The streets are red with blood and dark with gloom and fear. Daylight robbery is happening and becoming ‘normal’. Killings are a reality of each and everyday. The freedom and unlimited “human rights” is killing the black nation. Many youngsters are quitting school at primary level and yet we are expecting professional engineers, lawyers and doctors.

Yet every year in SONA government is emphasizing on building infrastructure for development. The question remains, where is this nation going.

Who will build this roads, schools and clinics for the promised development. The only tangible solutions are that we must get the youth back into classrooms and hours of learning should not be disturbed.

Every school must have a library, and no girl-child should be beneficiary of social grant if they are not attending school.

The quality and standard of education must be increased. Government should ensure its tough to be a prisoner and no benefits are given to those behind the bars. To be a prisoner it must not look interesting at all. Youth must be a afraid to go to prison. However this will only be implementable if we start to build mentally strong youth.
