Opportunities are just around the corner in communities

Many people fail to realize their full potential because they are too comfortable in the current situation.

They lack innovation and creativity; are not ready for change.

Some people think because they have touched the boundary, that is all there is to it.

At times, when duty calls, it is to push so hard.

If you are unemployment or you are a graduate no one will create employment or opportunities for you. You must use the skill or talent you have to make something up so you can be able to make a living. That is the mentality the young South Africans need to adapt to.

Many youngsters need to learn that short cuts are always easy but at times they lack integrity. Don’t be tempted to do the wrong things. Find ways of making money but don’t do short cuts they cost a lot as they return back.

This past youth day I met a young volunteer from Langa who has won the Commonwealth Award for young innovative persons.

She won the award because she came up with a strategy to turn dangerous corners into positive corners.

She is now making a living out of that, changing the mind-set of her peers.

That is inspiring creativity. And many people thought that her idea was totally impossible.

Creative ideas are available but many are failing to look deeper.

A simple challenge for the youth is whether they choose prison or hospital.

And the simplest thing to do was to remove the limitations around us see the world for what it is, a place of great opportunities.

It’s the boundaries that we mentally and physically create for ourselves that limit us and create discomfort.
