A 34-year-old man was arrested last on Tuesday night driving in a hijacked vehicle. Members of the Flying Squad were on patrol in Sibini Avenue, Nyanga when they spotted a white Audi with suspicious looking occupants.

The driver of the vehicle sped off when he saw the police but was later arrested in Ntsikizi Street in Crossroads after he bumped at vehicles that were parked in the streets.

The vehicle was scanned and it was reported as having been hijacked in Khayelitsha early this month.

One suspect was arrested and the other two men fled the scene. The suspect will appear in the Athlone Magistrate Court for the possession of a hijacked vehicle.
