Praises for a good Samaritan

2016-02-25 06:00

One morning in January, my son was travelling from Bellville to Durbanville.

He must have dropped his wallet in the taxi without realising it.

Mrs Mavis Billy noticed it on the seat and decided not to give it to the taxi driver or the tout.

Saying she did not know in who’s hands it may end up, she kept it wallet.

His ID document, two bank cards, car and motorbike licence and some cash were contained in his wallet.

Mrs Billy called the bank and cited the number on one of the cards. Somebody from ABSA found my information as his guardian on the system and called me. I was shocked when she asked me whether I knew the gentleman.

On confirmation, she gave me Mrs Billy’s number and we fetched the wallet in Nyanga with the contents still inside. We just want to thank Mrs Billy for her honesty.

South Africa, there is still hope for us and honest people in our country. Mrs Billy hope you enjoyed the chocolates!
