Retailer sticks to promise, launches new store in Thembokwezi

2016-06-30 06:00

Shoprite brought its promise of everyday low prices to customers in Khayelitsha, on Thursday, 30 June 2016, when it opened its doors at the newly built Thembokwezi Centre.

The new store opening has created over 150 job opportunities in a community experiencing high levels of unemployment and joblessness. According to Statistics South Africa, the unemployment rate in the country increased by 2.2% to 26.7% in March this year. As South Africa’s largest private sector employer, the Shoprite Group continues to create employment opportunities for South Africans on a daily basis.

Shoprite’s opening at Thembokwezi Centre means that customers in the area will be able to find their favourite groceries closer to home, without having to travel a long distance. Customers can look forward to great prices on the brands they have come to love and trust as well as in-store services such as an excellent meat market, bakery, a hot and cold foods deli and a fresh fruit and vegetable department.

Branch manager, Piet Hael and his team are excited to unveil the new store and invite the local community to come and experience a convenient shopping experience.

The new store will trade from 08:00 – 20:00 Mondays - Fridays, 08:00 – 17:00 on Saturdays and 08:00 – 17:00 on Sundays and holidays.
