Search for mother’s murderers

Langa police have appealed for help in tracing the gunmen who murdered an official of the education department in her home.

According to a report from provincial police, Nolovuyo Monwayo was at home with her husband and children on Wednesday (15 February) when two unknown men knocked on the door of her home in Dalindyebo Street and demanded to see her.

Police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, says one of the men remained in the kitchen and told two children to keep quiet while another suspect entered her bedroom and fired several shots at  Monwayo who died while being transported to the hospital.

“The husband of the deceased, Tladi Monwayo, and their two children didn’t sustain any injuries. The deceased had worked at the Department of Education. Both suspects are still at large.”

Langa police station commander, Colonel Musawenkosi Mbatha is appealing to the community to come forward with any information regarding the incident by contacting Detective Captain  Nozibele Sigenu on 073 121 8067 or the police station  on 021 695 8019.
