About 300 Mfuleni residents attended the official opening of the Organisational, Development and Transformation Plan (ODTP) of the City of Cape Town at the roadshow held at the local Community Hall last Wednesday.

Anda Ntsodo, the City of Cape Town’s Mayco member for Area East, joined front-line service delivery staff to bring services to the residents of Mfuleni and to explain the City’s new way of working.

About 600 residents passed through the expo where City staff were ready to assist with all manner of services. A total of 10 City departments attended the service delivery expo.

The most popular services were the registration for new housing opportunities and the chance for existing applicants to update their details on the housing database.

“I also spent some time on a walkabout talking to our residents about the ODTP and how this process aims to deliver services that focus on our residents and ensure that they are at the centre of the City’s philosophy, operations and ideas,” said Ntsodo.

“In Cape Town, we start from a high benchmark as it pertains to service delivery, by ensuring that we focus on the needs of our residents, especially our most vulnerable, we will be able to take service delivery to the next level,” he added.
