Lusanda Madinda, a passionate and inspiring entrepreneur grew up in Gugulethu, but five yearrs ago moved to Johannesburg.

His enthusiasm and drive are behind the success of Madinda Shoeshine Company.

Madinda turned vision into a reality.

He founded the company in 2015 with the purpose of closing the gap of unemployment and thus, poverty.

The devotion and enthusiasm given to his journey has created platforms for job creation and skills transfer by helping the poor prosper and build a better life.

“I’ve always believed that I could do something with my life ... That would make a difference to other people.

This was the seed that has created an appetite to start my own business. In this modern, fast paced way of living, we do not get the chance to take care of our shoes. And that is a pity, since proper care extends the life span of shoes considerably.

So, why not maximize your investment and treat your shoes nicely as they should be.

But it takes time, attention and technique if one wants it done properly,” he asserts.

Realising this need, Madinda founded his shoeshine business on passion and ambition to promote the culture of shoe caring and enable customers to have a deeper relationship with their shoes.

The company has been in operation for two years, and specialises in providing professional this service.

Other downstream services include shoe repairs, the cleaning of suede and sneakers.

The company has 4 permanent shoeshining stations in major corporate buildings, which operate from Monday to Friday.

We also offer a premium shoeshine experience focusing on events such as brand activations, conferences, exhibitions, trade shows, customer appreciation and product launches.

We craft the best experiences through our shoeshine service and thus making the event one to remember and treating the guests with respect.

We making them feel more important and well cared for.

Lusanda says that shoeshine experience is a proven winner that creates excitement and an eye catcher for any type of event.

Through collaboration with global shoe polish brand Kiwi, we signed an enterprise development programme with them.

We received much needed financial support that has been vital for the development of our business.

They also provided us with business opportunities by contracting us for several events and brand activations.

We were part of the Afropolitan 50th Edition Show, Soweto Fashion Festival, Pick n Pay and Spar Trade Shows.

We are grateful and forever thankful for our relationships with Kiwi, Absa and GrowthPoint Properties because they collectively helped our business to thrive and move forward.

He says, quality and great customer service are very important in this business. We want to build a reputational brand that will outlast for generations to come.

It’s very rewarding to make a real difference to other people’s lives in our society.”
